Karnak Vest
At the edge of the Nile lies the Karnak Temple Complex, a mix of temples, pylons and other ancient structures. A wavy stitch pattern inspired by these towering temples adds an interesting detail to an otherwise simply constructed vest.
The body of Karnak is worked in one piece from the bottom up, with shaping along the sides. Stitches for the wide collar are picked up along the neckline. Patch pockets are worked separately and sewn on. Armhole and button bands are worked in Garter stitch.
Using a worsted weight yarn in a cotton/silk blend, Karnak is a layering piece that transitions easily from warm to cool weather. Karnak is meant to be work with 2-3” positive ease in the bust; shown with 2” positive ease.
Stitch pattern is written and charted.
