I have loved fashion since I was a little girl. When I was ten I learned how to knit and was given a Crayola Fashion Design Kit. I guess you could say that the was the beginning of the end! Lots of fashion sketches and small knitted squares ensued. Eventually I went to the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and got a degree in Fashion Design. I worked in the clothing industry for 8 years, and it was during that time that I started seriously knitting. I wasn't happy with the designs that I saw in magazines and books and decided to start making my own. Now I am a full-time handknit designer and happy that I have a very portable career that goes hand in hand with being a military spouse.
I love designing, especially sweaters. Some of my favorite techniques are cables, lace, and stripes. Even when I'm enjoying my other hobbies, like gardening, baking and sewing, my mind is usually still dreaming up new ideas.
