Athena Headband

The Athena headband is a three strand headband worked in I-cord with a base of stockinette. The bottom of the headband is sewn to an elastic hair band that prevents an unsightly bump of hair and also ensures a snug fit that won’t stretch out or cause a headache. Both sizes use less than 50 yards, so this headband is also a good project for
using up leftover sock yarns.
SIZE
Size A: for persons with short and/or fine hair
Size B: for persons with thick and/or curly hair
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Size A: 17”
Size B: 18 ½”
MATERIALS
About 50 yards of sock yarn, which should be sufficient for both sizes. Shown here: The Great Adirondack Yarn
Company Soxie (100% Superwash Merino; 360 yards per 100 gm ball) color: Antique.

1 set US #2/2.25mm double point needles
NOTIONS REQUIRED
2 stitch holders (big safety pins work well)
